'Your move is very disappointing, change your ways'- Ruggedman to Blackface

Hours after Blackface reposted a post attacking 2face for supporting a rally against the present government, artiste, Ruggedman, took to his own page to call out Blackface. According to Ruggedman, Blackface's post is disappointing. He advised him to change his ways. Read what he wrote after the cut...

BLACKFACE FACE WHAT'S REAL
@blackfacenaija you be my guy and@official2baba na my guy but I will tell you that this your move right here is very disappointing. You sang hardlife and all when things were even a bit bearable, but now that things are really messed up you have kept quiet. But here you are mouthing off over a 2Face move? Guy you fall my hand. Talking about educating people.....1. It is not a protest being lead by 2face. He said he saw the post and thought to lend his voice to it. Something a few other artists and people have done. 2. So you knew about all the governors embezzling funds and yet you said nothing. But you are quick to shout now because 2face name has come out on something. But you make it too obvious you have something against 2face and you should have let all this go by now. NIGERIANS are suffering and you are just monitoring 2face. Atleast he has chosen to lend his voice to something all Nigerians believe is needed. What have you done? You have details that should be out there for all to see but you only decided to speak cos 2face is involved. Guy change your ways. I know you as a crusader and not a 2face hater. The people need voices that can be heard, I know you are one of them. Do the right thing brother. Life in Naija now is harder than it ever was and Buharis people should let Nigerians know what they are doing right and also let Nigerians know who and who is doing wrong. You cant say you are doing great things when the people cant feel it. You cant say you are fighting corruption yet not one corrupt official has been jailed in 2 years.

Zimbabwean football star, Onisimor Bhasera cheats death, survives car crash (Photos)

International football star, Onismor Bhasera has escaped with minor bruises after he was involved in a car accident in Zimbabwe on Monday, January 30, 2017.

The defender, who represented Zimbabwe at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, was traveling in his white BMW to South Africa, where he plays for SuperSport United, when he lost control of his car after hitting a pothole just after Birchenough Bridge in Zimbabwe..

LIB Exclusive: 2face is never concerned about people, he's just concerned about himself - Blackface

A few hours ago, Blackface renewed his bitter rivalry with 2face Idibia when he re-posted a lengthy piece titled 'Let us educate the illiterate' on his Instagram page targeting 2face Idibia and the planned protest on February 5, 5017. Read here
With this, LIB exclusively reached out to Blackface who defended his action saying, 'I don't think they should be thinking of a protest because we just got out from a crazy time, and the government is trying to fix the country. It's time to support the government and see what we can do for the country and not protest. They have been there for smaller amount of time and expect them to do miracles'. Read the rest of the exclusive interview after the cut....

LIB: Don't you think the present government has subjected several citizens to hardship?

This government? Have they forgotten there was a government before this present administration. If somebody has Pneumonia, you would forget the time the person was in cold. Just for us to be  factual, what is he protesting about? I think he should do better things than protesting. He should protest with his music, if I should advice him kindly. Has he protested for his Local government in his state? They say charity begins at home.

LIB: So you think the protest is meaningless?

I think its a waste of time.

LIB: Do you think the government has really done well?

We can't start asking this government if they have down well, they just started. PDP was there for about fifteen years. Did they come out to protest why there was no constant electricity?, Why was the National Stadium being used for unnecessary occasions? Why were people doing things against the law? so Why didn't they protest?

LIB: In the post you shared, 2face was described as an illiterate for his move to protest against the government, don't you think that was harsh?

I'm not the one who wrote the article, but there are things he shouldn't go into because he doesn't know anything about it.

LIB: So why did you repost it?

I had to because people have to read what the person's opinion is all about. This person thinks like this. You (2face) don't think similar and I think a lot of people feel this same way too. Has Fela ever called people out to come out a protest against the government? You(2face) calling people out? You (2face) know what you have done to people and now you are calling them out, he must be joking. He is never concerned about collective people, he is just concerned about himself. He can't just be mobilizing people, nah nah nah, that is a fraud.

LIB: What is your reaction to the Professor that called out 2face over his Protest against the Govt?

A professor, you mean a professor called him out and you think he is daft? We need to call a spade a spade. I know you guys are going write a lot of negative stuff about me that I said he shouldn't lead such protest. But what am saying is that nobody should use the manipulative mind to tell people to come out for something that is not worth it. That is wrong.

LIB: Don't you think 2face is a leader in the society and will be able to convince the government with the protest?

Let me tell you something. Does 2face Idibia have a fruitful foundation? No, Does 2face Idibia have anything that has to do with Benue State? No! Let me tell you something now. Emma  Ugolee is in the hospital. If somebody is a front runner what is he supposed to do? 2face is supposed to be able to mobilize people to figure out a way to raise money for  Ugolee 's hospital's bill. If I want to do that, the radio and TV are not going to listen to me. You guys have to come out straight. I don't know what will happen after it but we don't have to do no protest. Let us get our mind straight, they should stop that and stop manipulating people's mind.

Kcee approached me on bended knees to help salvage his dying career' - Harrysong

On 27th of January, LIB revealed that that the battle between Harrysong and his estranged label, Five Star Music, which is owned by Kcee and his brother, E-money, had escalated. He was reportedly arrested by Policemen on counts relating to breach of contract, fraud among other issues.

Five Star Music later  released a statement explaining why Harrysong was arrested. (Read here)

Harrysong’s new record label, Altar Plate has now released their own statement signed by their senior partner, Desmond Ike Chima. They claim Kcee approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career,

how the Police, who invited not arrested him, dismissed the charges and recommended that Five star music file a suit in a civil court. The statement also confirmed that the singer would not be returning back to his estranged label. Read after the cut.

"It was 8 am and Policemen acting on the instruction of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Onikan, stormed our hotel room to invite Harrysong over for questioning.
As a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, we got dressed up and set out for the AIGs office and on getting there we were greeted by the presence of a haggard looking young man in cheap pair of suit, identified as Five Star Music lawyer.

"His awfully shallow reasoning became so evident when he was called up to defend the petition he prepared on behalf of his client (Five Star Music). He suffered a hard time convincing the AIG and his men, including a visiting Commissioner, why the charges against Harrysong were criminal rather than civil.

"Even before any member of our camp could voice a word, the visiting commissioner ( from the way he sounded, a very learned and experienced officer) frowned at the concocted charges and recommended that they dropped the petition and rather file a suit in a civil court instead of bringing the Police into the picture.

"In view of the lies peddled on some social media platforms, I wish to state here clearly that, 1) Harrysong was never whisked away by some mobile police officers to an unknown location; 2) It wasn’t an arrest but an invitation by the AIG, a high ranking police officer, which he honoured. 3) A supposed breach of contract as captured in their petition is a civil and not a criminal case.

"On the other hand, as against the kangaroo statement released by Five Star music earlier today, I wish to also state that Harrysong did not at any time approach anyone or company to sign him; it was rather the other way round.

"Kcee approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career after he fell out with his then partner. As much as Harrysong loved to help him out in that time of need, it is worthy of note that,
1. He (Kcee) was talentless and knows next to nothing about music.
2. Harrysong had a running contract with Questionmark Records, but out of desperation, Kcee and his Five Star Music were prepared to pay off Kelvin Luciano in their quest to have him (Harrysong) at all cost. It would be recalled that Harrysong succeeded in recreating Kcee’s sound, wrote and co-produced his first meaningful single, ‘Had it been I know’, followed by ‘Okpekete’, ‘Limpopo’, ‘Pull Over’ and other songs that defined the Kcee that everyone now knows and celebrates today, all pro bono.

For what it’s worth, Harrysong’s dealing with Five Star Music was with the clause that he would be left to pursue his career whenever he deemed it fit.

As the case may be, we are not surprised at the turn out of things and why Kcee-led Five Star Music has chosen the way of reproach rather than that of honour. The earlier they wake up to the reality that Harrysong had long dumped them in a trash bin and moved on, the better for them, ‘cos’ I can tell you for free, he is not coming back. And to our fans and the general public, I wish to apologize on their behalf and to leave you with these words, ‘Kcee is confused and as such frustrated and we can understand’.
For the records, Alterplate has come to stay and you are free to do business with Harrysong and Alterplate Management, we are indeed the real deal.

'Rap is dead' in Nigeria - Terry Tha Rapman supports Yung6ix

Earlier today, rapper Yung6ix expressed his frustration with Nigerian rap music with a tweet that reads, 'When I wanna listen to African rap I play Yung6ix and SA rappers wtf is going on with the Nigerian Rappers ? Wake up'.

Apparently he's not alone in his line of thoughts. LIB reached out to other Nigerian rappers to comment on the issue and our first response came from a veteran in the industry, Terry Tha Rapman who says,

'I kinda get where he's coming from. I've been stressing this for long, when I said 'rap is dead' in Nigeria I didn't mean nobody is rapping. I meant we (being the fans, media and promoters) stopped supporting rap music as it should be at a point'.
He continued to say, 'Now would you blame rappers for fine tuning their style? Rappers hardly get the airplay/support as our pop counterparts so after years we started adapting. I still believe there's hope. We are far from the days of Trybesmen, 2shotz, Ruggedman, Modenine and when MI dropped Talk About It and MI2. We need more rap concerts to promote hip-hop culture. The few ones I've been to were not encouraging'.

Throwback Video: 3 months ago, Harrysong said he won't leave Five Star music without blessings from his bosses

http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2017/01/throwback-video-3-months-ago-harrysong.html

The Harrysong VS Five Star Music saga keeps getting interesting by the day. The past 3 days have witnessed accusations and counter accusations from both parties.

While Five Star Music claims Harrysong breached the contract he signed, Harrysong who has now floated Alter-Plate records says, the Kcee led Five Star Music is confused and frustrated.

Now a new video has surfaced online showing Harrysong at Wazobia FM studios with OAP, Diplomatic OPJ just 3-months ago (October 2016) where he denied rumors about leaving Five Star Music saying He can't leave the label without the blessings of his bosses. Watch the video below...

Musician Wale Waves writes Open Letter to Governor Ajimobi

13241358_1085438541522417_1770190639759529461_n

Seeing the pictures attached, you should be reminded of what transpired between myself and the loyalists/organizers of the Governor’s campaign concert held at the Agodi Gardens ground on the 22nd of March 2015 in Ibadan. It later became a sensitive case in the State Secretariat after over several comments on Facebook, Twitter and blogs from different people, reasonable and even the Governor’s Loyalists and Campaign Team, wrote a lot of things to respond to my post. I was called by 9ice, My Lawyer, some Special Adviser to the Governor, just to mention few on this same case. Now, it is a great disappointment that I have to write another open letter again to the Governor, his Loyalists, Campaign team, the Government and to whom it may concern, of the so called state that I started my career from ‘Oyo State’.
My major points of view are these;
1. Why does the Oyo State Government ‘hate’ entertainment and not see it as a form of income revenue generation?
2. If the Oyo State Government can’t even discover new talents among the youths of the state, then why can’t they encourage and support the ones that have helped themselves to a reasonable stage of their career?
A Case Study;
Dremo (was) an Ibadan artiste, hardly could you find an Ibadan indigene that could sing any of his songs back to back. He was not supported nor appreciated by the state government by creating the appropriate entertainment platforms for his fellow indigenes to hear him aloud so they can celebrate him too as their own indigenous celebrity. Instead, his talent was discovered and appreciated few weeks ago by a foreigner, almost the youngest of all entertainers in Nigeria ‘Davido’, in Lagos, which wasted no time in signing him up under his Record Label, which by God’s grace, the same Oyo State Government will soon foolishly now pay millions to bring him back for their coming campaign. Just watchout!.
If you build your own house, why going to rent an apartment.

This same thing goes to our so called Ibadan based OAPS, Radio Stations, TV Stations and the Deejays. When you don’t make your indigenous artistes’ materials popular, then how do you want the artistes to be heard by his people? How does the listener that are meant to be his fans be, or request for his songs or videos?
Ibadan songs are not played in Lagos stations but their artistes songs, then do you need to be told that Ibadan songs should dominate Ibadan Stations? Are we not learned? Why do they have Beat Fm in Lagos and still have another Beat Fm in Ibadan if they believe we listen to their stations in Far Lagos? Why don’t you embrace your environment and talents?
For example, on HipTv for like a week now, the Station has being showing and commending the great brilliant effort of the Lagos Government Administration led by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on the 1st Lagos concert he held and made possible, whereby a lot of different Lagos indigenous artistes performed at the concert. The Governor and different dignitaries were also present. Even, I saw the former Governor of Cross River State – Donald Duke perform live with a saxophone. Instead, our own governors will be demolishing platforms for entertainments like clubs and concert grounds. So this is why I used the word “hate” in my 1st question.
Please, after Governor Ambode paid this artistes, made all of them perform, being televised by his state and private TV/Radio stations, and made the event to be an annual celebrated one. Which in his statement was so proud of by saying, “If the Americans can say the Washington DC Jazz concert is the best in the world, then he proclaims his own ‘Lagos Jazz concert’ to be the best Jazz concert in the whole Africa.” Can this type of Governor want to campaign tomorrow and all these appreciated talents won’t rush down to support him with their fans and followers?
Instead see what we heard few days ago; “Oyo State government has just announced that anyone doing shows/events in Ibadan MUST collect permit/pay levy. Imagine such circular, when they have NEVER supported entertainment since they came in?”
Please, I am using this medium to plead to these arms and system to adjust so that ‘WE’ youths can say we don’t regret ever being born in this part of Nigeria.

I must speak for my industry. Thank you.”
.
Wale Waves has spoken his own, so what do you guys think?

An open letter to Ibadan Artistes!

“One more time, i am sorry for my recent outburst on the BBM Platform but i feel i need to let our ibadan city based artists know somethings i have always wanted to let them know but i feel this is the time to speak out.Ibadan is one of the biggest city in Africa and currently the city has been experiencing alot of great changes as companies are moving into the city. The artists based in Ibadan need to know who they are and what they want for themselves. Firstly do you know what it takes to be an artist? Do you have plan/strategy to help build your career in the city and even beyond. Do you even know you market?. For example, BK GMB is a rapper, a pure English hardcore rapper, the question is, What is he doing in Ibadan? Ibadan is populated by mostly Yoruba people and that’s why its easy for talents like Keanzo, Jayru, Portah, Tuwyze, Pizzy to pass a message to the people through their music.

Dremo was never appreciated in the city because he is an English rapper but he moved to Lagos, explored the market, got Davido’s attention and today, he is one of Nigeria King of New School. You need to identify your market, explore it and you will get what you want.
Another thing is Do you have a team?, Do you have a manager or a biz manager?…some even have manager they treat as errand boy. Note that a manager is not your errand boy or your pimp, your manager is your boss who you need to be respected and listened to. Get yourself a very good manager who knows about the business and have the connection for the success of your career.Do you have a good song?, undoubtedly, Ibadan is blessed with talents who have good songs, infact evergreen songs but wait do you have a video for the song? your fans need to knowyou, some people know your name don’t even know how you look like.
How have you been able to reach your fans? in Clubs?..Do you know Amuloko? do you know your song might be bursting dwellers of those abandoned villages/towns brain?, Do you have a budget for promotion? Do you have a strategy to promote the project?.Most of you people live on past glory, stop the ‘do you know who i am’ crap..who the heaven are you?.
You are just a glorified upcoming artist who needs to stop been proud and be loyal to those who are willing to help you. I will always respect artists like Portah and Tuwyze, immediately they get into a venue/club, they walk up to the DJ to give him no matterhow small he might be, his respect. Money can never by Respect i was told. How do you manage your social media?, in this new generation of entertainment, record labels search for artists via social media, Don Jazzy found Reekado Banks on twitter, Olamide found the new YBNL Princess on Instagram, Davido found Mayorkun on Instagram. How do you interact with your fans on social media?. You still dey form boss abi?, even Don Jazzy dey something post rubbish on social media just interact with his fans. The most annoying thing about you people is that you compare yourself with other artists, Why, you hear words like”how can they be hyping Dremo, dem no even dey respect me wey don tey for this game”, pls na wetin Dremo do you do? Nawetin Dremo get you get?, Na how Dremo Hustle you hustle?. Dremo studied the market, he explored it with the help of his team and today he is the talk of the nation.
Another one is, Artists don’t show love in the city, one artist go drop song, another artist will either drop song immediately or even ignoreit. wait sef, when Dremo was in Ibadan, abeg who support am?. Olamide shifted the release date of his album because acolleague of his was dropping an album a day or 2 before his, so he decided to shift his album release date and still supported the artist. Can that ever happen in Ib?. I have seen artist spoil another artist in front of show promoters/organizers just because he wants to perform at theshow. How do you expect to get paid for show you literally begged for?…Kolewerk fa.You cannot do exam in lead city and expect result in UI, laye kojo, you pay another city based pr/blogger your song to release and you expect bloggers in your own city to support you for free. Like say Africana, Pussiness and other top bloggers in the city come count roundabout for Ibadan abi? Go blow for where you promote your song na, and when last did you walk into a media house to surprise the oaps with gift,lunch, recharge cards or any form of appreciation?. Do you expect an OAP to beg you to bring your songs or what?. When last did you storm the DJ Association meeting to pay due respect?..You don’t expect people who might not even know you or evenhave your song to support you, Never!.To get what your want to be successful in your career;
*.Stop been proud.
*.Stop singing the same 2 years old songs at different shows.
*.Know your market.
*.Pay good producers for good songs.
*.Shoot a good video so you can reach a wide range of your fans
*.Be sociable…Interact with fans and investors via social media.

*.Know and respect the oaps, DJs, Bloggers, fellow musicians, show promoters and who deserves respect
*.Work on a budget for your project and promotion.
*.Stop living fake life and Stop backbiting.
*.Stop been jealous of other people’s success, work on yours.
*.Form a team, a strong one.
*.Pray hard in fact harder
*.Read books about music business & attend seminars
*.Support others who will support you back.
*.Stop Fucking all Pussies that come your way.
*.Be Yourself, Remember what opened Adams’ eyes, closed Abachas, work out a strategy for your own career and stop comparing and wishing to be like.
*.Stop begging for shows, let your team do that for you.
*.Pay For Promotion!…PAY!!!
*.One more time, Respect your DJ/OAP/Blogger.And Please STOP WORSHIPING all those empty barrels, if they can’t help themselves, they cant help you. Don’t let anybody tell you, if you don’t see or worship this person you no go blow for Ibadan. Na Scam oh, ask them “who dem epp?” , if dem lie give you, ask dem “Are You God?”With this little i have shared, i feel and i know you will build a successful career.Make i stop here so dem no go say i dey throw shades at anybody.

Remember, i will always support every single talent from the city even though none of you in the city supported by new artist last single in any form, even one of you demanded for money to throw ordinary BC on BBM oh, yes you know yourself son, but guess what, that didn’t affect the success of the project. We still reach on Top 10 in the city and beyond..sowho ur BC n Support don epp?And All this show promoters/club owners too, please respect our talents, invest in them andPAY FOR OUR SERVICES…. While i’m still preparing to ‘attack’ OAPs, DJs, Club Owners, Entertainers
I’m yours Wahalafully,Ade’ Nelson (REAL PUSSINESS)
feel free to criticize me, Thanks

Top 10 Controversies That Rock The Music Industry In 2016

2016 was an eventful year filled with a lot of dramas and controversies as our artistes couldn’t but let out their anger and frustration which led to a lot of fights between artistes, record labels, managers and even blogs.
The year started on a high note of dramas and it continued to the end of the year. This year is going to go down in history as one with the most dramas and controversies in the music and entertainment industry.
There was never a dull moment this year as almost every month there is one fight, scuffle or beef that engulfed the industry.
Below is our Top 10 Controversies of 2016 that rock the music industry.

1 Olamide Vs Don Jazzy Headies Scuffle
As we ushered in the New Year, 2016, a very big drama unfolded at the Headies Awards which held on the 1st of January to the early hours of next day. Two of Nigerian music heavyweights, Olamide and Don Jazzy threw shades at each other after the much converted price “Next Rated Award” was given to Reekado Banks of Mavin Records. This didn’t go down well with Olamide who took to the stage to blast the organizers of the awards and also the entire Mavin crew. In return Don Jazzy also mounted the stage and ridiculed Olamide by rhetorically asking him if it’s the car he wants, he can come and have it.
The beef between the two music bigwigs came to an end with the influence of top personalities that mediated and pacified them. One of them is Nigeria’s and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
2 Tiwa Savage & Tee Billz Marriage Scandal
One of the biggest scandals/ controversies of 2016 is the separation between the biggest celebrity couple Tiwa Savage and Teebillz. Earlier this year Teebillz took to instagram to complain about his “thought-to-be perfect” marriage and his wife cheating on him with other celebrities (Dr Sid, Don Jazzy and 2face).
The music promoter was later reported missing by his family and friends before he was found later that same day attempting suicide on the Lekki-ikoyi Bridge, and was rescued by Banky W, one of the P-square brothers and some well-meaning Nigerians.
Tiwa Savage later revealed the reason behind her failed marriage in an interview with Pulse tv. With tears in her eyes she complained about Teebillz being an irresponsible husband and father. In the interview she spoke about her husband and his cocaine addiction, his affair with another woman known as Edible Catering, his reckless spending; popping bottles in the club in her name( without paying), neglecting her when she had a miscarriage in Jamaica amidst others.
Teebillz has since then been out of rehabilitation and back on instagram, there are rumours that the couple are working on their marriage and are currently seeing a counsellor. #NaijaloadedWishesThemWell
3 P-square Breakup
The Okoye brothers of P-Square shocked their fans when they broke up and went solo. The two brothers disagreed about their elder brother Jude Okoye, handling of their music business affairs and it led to fallout of the group.
They both went their separate ways with both establishing individual record labels. Paul signed two artistes to his label while Peter is yet to sign any artiste yet to his label.
They eventually settled their differences and got back together to making good music like they are known for. To convince their fans of their reconciliation and that P-Square is truly back, they released a brand new track titled “Bank Alert” under the name P-Square and also bought a multimillion mansion in Banana Island for them and their family.
4 Wizkid Vs Linda Ikeji
The drama between Wizkid and controversial blogger Linda Ikeji started when Linda released a post saying that Wizkid had been given an eviction notice by the landlord, from the house Wizkid claimed to have bought years ago, his Porsche car was bought on hire purchase and he lied about his age.
The singer then took to instagram to blast linda, calling her all sorts of names, and making derogatory statements about her. To cut the long story short, they both ended their social media fight in the office of the Commissioner of Police after Linda Ikeji reported the matter to the police.
5 Davido vs The Momodu’s
Early this year Davido and his Babymama had a social media fight which later turned messy when ace publisher Dele Momodu got involved to protect the image of his niece, Sophia Momodu.
The fight got serious when Davido accused his Babymama of taking hard drugs which is harming his daughter. He took his daughter away from her and refused her from seeing her daughter.
Davido revealed a doctor’s report on social media accusing Sophia of harming their baby through breastfeeding because of the hard drugs she has been taking. Sophia refuted this claim with her uncle in support of her.
In other to treat his daughter of her illness he planned to fly her out with his family to Dubai but he was stopped at the airport from leaving the country by immigration officers on the direction of Dele Momodu. This action led to exchange of words on social media with both families attacking each other.
Davido on the other hand used the opportunity to make music out of it. (‘’No be by force to go Dubai… “Mr Dele Na my boy, Dele Na my boy’’ You know the rest guyz… The fight was later settled and Davido was allowed to travel out with his daughter to Dubai for treatment.
6 Wizkid Vs DammyKrane
Once again Wizkid makes it to our list and this time it’s a fight with another fellow artiste, DammyKrane. DammyKrane had earlier posted on Twitter accusing Wizkid of stealing something from him, which he later revealed on instagram two days later that Wizkid stole his content without due permission.
Wizkid never responded to his allegation on social media but when they both met in a party at club Quilox hosted by Nigerian football star, Obafemi Martins. Wizkid walked up to DammyKrane and threw a glass cup at his face which injure him on his lips and led to the bleeding.
The fight was settled by the club owner, ShinaPeller in his office and they both reconciled and later went back to the club like nothing had happened. That was the last we heard of the beef as the two parties have moved on.
7 Skales & Manager, Osagie Feud with Baseline Records
Nigerians woke up to the news on the first of June, 2016 that singer, Skales and manager, Teresa Osagioduwa Osarenkhoe popularly known as Osagie were detained by the Nigerian police in Onikan Zone II Police station.
The two were arrested of an allegation levelled against them by their record label, Baseline Records. Skales’ manager Osagie was accused of diverting proceeds worth over 13million naira from Skales music dealings to her personal account that was meant to go to the record label’s account. They were detained for over 36 hours before the police would let them go by making her to write an undertaking that she would no longer represent Skales and Aramide and that she would refund all the money she was accused of.
After coming out of detention she released a press release to clear all misconception levelled against her, saying she did not steal a dime but instead said “what we have done is to keep our work and lives going on, following inaction from them.” She is no more managing Skales and Aramide who are both under Baseline Records. Skales on the other hand has been given a new management company by his record label.
8 Davido And Kaffy Fight
Popular Nigerian dancer, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, better known by her stage name, Kaffy, called out music star, Davido, describing him as arrogant. This happened on the 26th of October, 2016 in an instagram video where she also wrote a piece of her mind to Davido and other artistes that disrespect dancers.
In the video she called Davido a Motherfu*ker and said what he did was very disrespectful to every dancer in the country. According to her she said Daido hired some dancers for a show and after all their rehearsals for week he had to cancel their performance with him right before he climbed the stage.
Kaffy said it was unethical and unprofessional for the artiste to just take that sort of decision before show time.
Davido later responded to Kaffy’s rant in a short interview and said he has no problem with Kaffy that he was shocked when he saw the video.
9 Runtown And Eric Manny Records Legal Dispute
Runtown a recording artiste signed to Eric Manny Entertainment has had a very bad run with his label which led to a messy legal battle between the two parties.
Eric Manny Entertainment filed a court injunction against Runtown seeking to stop Runtown from performing or recording and other musical activities in the country pending the determination of the suit. Eric Manny Records accuses Runtown and his manager, Bugwu Anetowho also doubles as the General Manager of the record label for side-lining the label from money collected for shows.
Runtown also filed a court injunction against his label for threat of life andbreach of contract, claiming that the label has been cheating him of his money collected from shows, callertune, MTN Musicplus and other mobile digital sales. He also tried terminating his contract with the label.
They fight even got more intense when Eric Manny Entertainment got a USA court injunction barring Runtown from performing or conducting any music activities in the United State until he sorts his suite with his label in Nigeria. Runtown was organising a US Tour tagged “Ghetto University USA Tour”.
To cut the long stories short the two parties were able to settle their difference out of court with a new agreement reached which entails that Runtown would remain with the Eric Manny Entertainment for one more year but this time it’s more of a partnership deal, giving Runtown more control unlike before. They also sacked his manager and hired Isaac Egere to manage the entire affairs of the artiste and the label.
10 2face Idibia and Blackface Beef
The beef between the two former members of the defunct music group, PlantashunBoiz dates back far back when 2face released his multi-award winning song “African Queen” that Blackface has been attacking him of song theft.
Earlier this year Blackface came for Wizkid accusing him of stealing his lines in his mega hit song “Ojuelegba”. In an interview with Punch he said “If you check properly, you would realise that Wizkid’s hit, Ojuelegba, sounds exactly the same as the track 13 on my dancehall album released as far back as of stealing his lines for his mega hit song “Ojuelegba”.
After lashing out at Wizkid the singer posted series of tweets accusing 2face of stealing his song for his song with Bridget Kelly titled “Let Somebody Love You”. He threatened to sue 2face and his manager EfeOmorogbe for not acknowledging him in the song. In one of the tweet he said “y not ask dat u wana record my song?I was out in d wilderness n u never called becos u wish me dead so my properties be urs? @official2baba”.
2face later responded to Blackface accusations in an interview and stated that he had nothing but love and respect for Blackface. “We will trash the whole matter but I got nothing but love and respect for him and it is just so unfortunate that he is coming at me like that” he said.
The two were later seen dancing and singing together at a party hosted by former militant, High chief Ateke Tom in Rivers State. It is alleged that Ateke was the one who brokered peace between the two artistes.
